What if people sang out loud, just because they felt like it?
What if this was a normal thing to do, to express one’s feelings with music instead of judging whether one was ‘good enough’ to be allowed to do so?
What would it be like to hear ‘hello’ from every stranger you met?
What if cars had no alarms?
What if leaf blowers were never used?
What if there was an agreed upon ‘Silent Hour’ every day?
What if it was more common to hear people say nice things about each other, even if they didn’t agree with each other?
What if politicians spoke only the truth?
What if people didn’t speak loudly on cell phones in public?
What if everyone was in the habit of saying ‘Please’ and Thank You’?
What if there was a prime time news show dedicated to positive validating good news?
What would it be like to live in a world where more people actually listened to each other?
What if listening were a highly prized skill, an art form, included in every school’s curriculum?
Wouldn’t you love to hear these words: ‘The war is over. Every war.’?
What if you could hear the stars twinkle, the sun shine, and the earth spin? I’ll bet you can if you try. When you listen to the sounds of life all around you, you’ll hear more than you ever thought you would.
