When you speak the language of energy

Energy is a language you were born knowing how to speak. This is a language we all know, though each of us might  have a different way of understanding what it means. Each person has a unique perspective and experience.

I may have a different way of feeling, seeing, or knowing energy than you. It’s pointless to try to prove energy to anyone else, because of this uniqueness. Trying to prove energy to someone is like trying to prove what you feel. Your feelings are your experience, and while you can communicate them, you can’t expect others to completely understand your experience of feeling. They have their own experience, which you may not completely understand.

You were born already equipped to speak the language of energy, because you are energy. Your body is made of energy. You as a being are energy, spirit.

As an energy, there is just one of you; you are unique in all of creation. This is why it’s important for you to know yourself: the rest of us need you to be you, because nobody else can replace you. When you find the truth of who you are, you heal yourself and become a healing for others, just by being. It becomes easier for you to create your creations, and live your life.

If you think there’s something wrong with you or with your energy, you can go through life feeling flawed, as if you’re missing something. When things in your life don’t go the way you’d like them to, it can be easy to blame yourself and think your energy is bad or wrong. Another word for this is ‘invalidation’. If you think you or your energy are wrong, you are invalidated. You’ve forgotten that you have value.

It is when you have your own energy within yourself, and when you can begin to get more of your energy back again, that you start to become validated again. There is nothing wrong with your own energy, but if you are walking around holding onto all kinds of energies you picked up from other people and events, it’s more difficult to have enough of your own energy to do what it is you want to do. You forget your own value, or don’t get to know it, when you become a storehouse for energies that aren’t yours. It can feel like you’re carrying a burden around with you. All of the energy that isn’t you affects your body. When you take on other energies, they affect your body’s energy and health.

So, how do you change this? How do you begin to learn who you are, and to know your own energy? How do you get validated?

Getting to know yourself begins with you taking the time to go within yourself, and to begin to communicate with yourself, in order to learn more about what is true for you, who you are, and what you honestly want for your life. Meditation is a valuable tool you can use to become more aware of who you really are. Grounded meditation will help you to change your energy, and change your life. When you take the time to get to know the most important person in your life better – yourself – you make brilliant and lasting changes. It’s worth it!

The art of flying away from perfection

Trying to achieve or maintain a state of perfection can feel like being locked in a cage – one of your own making.

When you are never enough, or can never give enough, no matter how much you give of yourself, you may be aiming for a widely sought after, popular state of being, known as Perfection.

A bird in a cage may look perfectly content and beautiful, but while in the cage can never access its greatest ability: flight.

Are you the bird who has locked yourself away, thereby preventing yourself from being able to access your own ability to fly? When you do this, you deny the rest of us the privilege of seeing you do so, which in turn may inspire still others to try it themselves. Your flight may help me realize I can fly as well. In order to fly well, you have to try, and run the risk of not doing it perfectly, of publicly failing, of hearing others who’ve not yet flown their own craft tell you in well-meaning-but-relieved-that-you-failed voices, “I told you so. Stay close to the ground where you’ll be safe!”.

The thing they (and you) may have forgotten about the alleged wisdom of staying close to the safe ground is that a) it’s not really safe – there are predators there too, and b) a bird is safer in flight, more powerful, faster, and able to find dinner more easily. Also c) it’s fun to fly, really beautiful to see birds in flight.

If you fail, they have a better excuse to not even try. If you fail publicly, they will never let you forget it if you let them get away with it. If you succeed, the lie that it can’t be done is blown up, and everyone who is too afraid to even try will be feeling the pain of your success, and reaching for another round of excuses about why they cannot even begin to try.

Another problem about all of this flying about is that if you (and the bird) take off into the air, it’s more difficult to pin either of you down, control you, or keep you in plain, controllable, view. Obviously, this isn’t a problem for you, (or the bird), just for the control freaks in your life, and anyone else who can’t see themselves flying yet so don’t you dare even try.

Birds were designed to fly. You were designed to become who you are. But you get to decide what that is and do the work involved that it takes to get there.

If you never fly, never become who you truly are, you’ll never know what you might have seen while in flight. If you can get your nerve up to take off, even in the face of resistance, invalidation, fear, and a lack of control over the outcome, if you can trust that you’ll do well in your quest to find what you are seeking – it won’t matter if you fly better than anyone else, or if you even do it with finesse. Just by trying, you succeed. The trick is to get up and try again tomorrow, to step forward, to take off, to keep yourself moving.

Amusement is a powerful energy

As a vibration of spiritual energy, amusement ranks high as one of the most valuable, powerful, and healing energies you can work with.

Contrary to popular belief, being in touch with your spirit does not require you to be serious, as in ‘not amused’. Actually, the opposite is true. When you begin to find amusement with yourself and your life, as well as other people, you are getting somewhere. Seriously.

As a spiritual energy, here’s what amusement gives to you; your body likes this energy, so it makes it easier for your body to feel good. You can even find your amusement with having a body. Emotionally, amusement is a far easier energy to be in than stress, pain or drama. It is very difficult for outside forces to control you when you are amused. Challenges can seem a bit easier if you can find your amusement with them. The bigger picture is more evident, perspective has been regained.

Especially, and this cannot be stressed enough, though not at all seriously… especially if you are in resistance to someone or something, you can free yourself with a simple dose of amusement. When you are able to laugh at the ridiculousness of any situation you are “in to win”, any battle you’ve sunk your teeth into and are having a hard time releasing yourself from, anywhere you know you’ve been ‘gotten’ by someone who is throwing a game on the table and it’s not yours: you have found your amusement, and suddenly you can see more clearly.

You might want to get started on your own amusement portfolio today. A good place to start is to find out: what makes you laugh out loud? What gives you joy, makes you happy, helps you get away from the prevailing miserable wisdom? What helps you to stay in your body, remember why life is good, find your gratitude for being alive?

Laughter is healing, and a smile does wonders for your health, relationships, looks, AND personality. If you don’t believe me, ask the people who you are around all day long.

When you show up and do the work…

When you show up to do the work of becoming you, you begin to put your energy back into yourself, and into your life. This is akin to investing in your own future, not to mention your present.

When you do this, you are able to perform miracles, like healing yourself from events in your past that have lingered, places where you left parts of yourself behind. By releasing your energy from those places, you can have it back now, where it can really do some good for you. Only in the present moment do you create. The more of your energy you are able to have with you now, the more resources you have to create with. You have a valuable resource – your own true energy, which cannot be replaced by any other substance.

When you decide to invest time and energy in embellishing yourself, your return is far more than you might ever expect, predict, or imagine. If you haven’t taken the time to know your own spirit, you don’t even know yet what you don’t know and what you are missing about who you are, and how great and joyful your life can be.

When you make the commitment to forgive, trust, and love – you, then you step away from anything or anyone who ever tried to make you feel that you weren’t worth it. When you decide to dive in and become completely honest with yourself, rather than play the child, victim, or powerless one to forces outside of you, you create space for yourself that cannot be taken away. The only way you can lose that space is to give it up to other energies.

When you dive in and begin to get it, to really see – you! – you’ll be awestruck at your power. If you’ve believed that your power and value came from outside of yourself, you are in for a treat when you learn where they really come from. Look no further than your own true home – yourself.

The energy of freedom

How do you see your relationship with freedom?

You might see freedom as a way of living life, a goal, an outcome, an entitlement, patriotism, or even impossible.

Freedom happens on different fronts: financially, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, in relationships, at work, while traveling, when alone. You have different levels of freedom in different areas of your life.

Depending on where you are right now in your life, you may feel free, or not. Guidelines for your level of freedom might be laid out for you by others in your group and your culture. Depending on whether you are male or female, young, old, married or single, straight or gay, educated, wealthy or not – your level of freedom changes, at least according to the prevailing wisdom around you. This is where judgment comes into play, and once judgement enters the picture, freedom diminishes.

Freedom can manifest in your life in many different ways.

Freedom, and how you see yourself in relation to it, comes out of your consciousness, your awareness. Freedom is not anarchy. You may feel entrapped by any number of situations in your life; whether you have any control over them is another thing to consider. Move away from anything or anyone who appears to keep you from feeling free, and your view changes. If you move the energy out of you, ie: let go of any energy that you’ve allowed to keep you enslaved, you gain freedom. It’s not about those out there doing it to you, it’s how you decide to have your own space regardless.

If you decide to free yourself from where you’ve allowed yourself to become enslaved, don’t blame others. Every challenge you’ve faced has only helped you to get stronger, to learn more about yourself, to move deeper into your own spirit. Once freed, you will have a new view of life and yourself. It isn’t anyone else’s responsibility to do this for you, though others can certainly help. We all help free each other through our words, acts, and creations, through sharing, a kind hello. Still, it is up to each one to do the actual work. If you want to gain freedom for yourself, you can.

The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, they finish by loading honors on your head. – Jean Cocteau (1889-1963)
